oh, to be a kid again

The kids have been making us laugh lately. They do and say the craziest things that adults would just never think of ...

... some of their latest antics ...

What is it about bread crusts that have kids nibbling so carefully? Because heaven forbid you actually take a bite of that disgusting crust! It might make your hair fall out!

Remember how cool it was to have your front teeth gone and how awesome it was to have your straw fit nicely there instead? Enjoy it now Shailey, those big teeth are coming in fast!

The kids have been watching Voltron lately with Danny. Eli came up with his own version of the character Pidge. He dresses this way each time they watch the show together.

Isaac has been especially funny lately. The other night he was picking his nose and complaining about a really big booger in there. I didn't think it could be that big. Danny looked in there and was shocked by the size of the booger he could see. He tried to get it out for him with no luck. Then suddenly Isaac made the face you make when you're about to sneeze.

So he let out a big sneeze ...
... and ...

... out popped a bead. A shiny little brown bead, although I'm sure it felt enormous when it was shoved up his nose. We had a hard time keeping our composure as we sternly tried to explain how we don't stick things up our nose.

And more about Isaac ...

The other night he was "reading" a story to Danny and I about animals. Each page had a different animal on it with the sound they make. This is what he "read":

Page 1 (picture of a duck saying "Quack! Quack!") - He says, "Ducks eat water," as he points to the words.

(May I remind you, there are only two words on each page.)

Page 2 (picture of a dog saying "Woof! Woof!") - He says, "Dogs eat guys."

(So much for man's best friend.)

Page 3 (picture of a pig saying "Oink! Oink!") - He says "Pigs eat nests."

(What??)

Page 4 (picture of a rabbit with the words "Hop! Hop!") - He says "Rabbits eat hummingbirds."

(We didn't realize that rabbits were carnivores.)

Page 5 (picture of a lamb saying "Baa! Baa!") - He says "Sheeps (yes, plural) eat grass."

(We finally thought he was going to get them right after that one.)

Page 6 (picture of a kitten saying "Meow! Meow!") - He says "Kitties eat BAD kitties."

We could not stop laughing after that.

Another Isaac moment ...

We were at the park the other day playing and having fun. There were a few other moms there with their kids. I noticed one little girl throwing a little tantrum and crying. Her mom picked her up and they promptly left the playground. Isaac was watching all of this take place and said to me, "Oh. That mommy is taking that little girl to jail." Danny and I have never discussed the concept of "jail" to Isaac before but apparently it's where naughty children go.

Thanks Shailey, Eli and Isaac for making us laugh and keeping our lives interesting!

I hope your baby sister will learn to be just as crazy as you three are!

Isaac was sooo cute on Sun. in the Nursery!! He came over to me & quietly said "my mommy has a baby in her tummy!"...to which I replied, "she does?! What's a baby doin' in her tummy?! Growin'?!" He said "nah" & then I said "is it a boy baby or a girl baby?" & he VERY excitedly answered "Girl"!! I said "that's so exciting...you're going to be a wonderful big brother"!! ~Debbie Freitas

I know, where do kids learn to not eat the crust...it's so weird. Kids say the funniest things. Sometimes I'd like to take Easton to jail.

Crazy kids...I just love them! As for Isaac and the bead up the nose. Hhhmmm, I wonder where he gets that....could it be genetics, Mr. "stick a bean in the ear and let it sprout" Danny Boman!?

You don't even look pregnant Kim!!! You look amazing!!! I was just about to write and say, "let's meet up at D-land one of these days, until I scrolled down and saw that picture. I'd look like a freaking hippopotumus compared to you!

Your family is so cute. Maybe someday we'll meet up.
