Well, when you're updating 8 months worth of stuff, you're bound to forget something, right? Sorry, Eli!
ELI'S BIRTHDAY
We took Eli to Disneyland for his birthday. It would be his last birthday there for a long time since our passes expired in November and we wouldn't be renewing them for awhile. As a rule in the Boman family, when you go to Disneyland on your birthday, you get to choose all the rides and activities. We had never done the Jedi Training Academy, so that was at the top of Eli's list. They only select a certain number of kids from the crowd. We were thrilled that they chose not only Eli, but Shailey and Isaac as well.
The show was very fun. The kids all got to wear a Jedi robe and train with a real Jedi on how to properly use a lightsaber. And then who should show up? None other than Darth Vader and his goons, of course!
Each kid got a turn battling Darth Vader one on one! Isaac dropped his lightsaber (which was met with taunting from Darth Vader) but he picked it right back up, continued fighting and did very well.
Shailey forgot the fighting sequence altogether. Or maybe after watching the other kids she realized the fighting sequence they were doing clearly wasn't causing Darth's defeat...so she made up her own and went straight for his head! The Jedi assisting her reminded her to "Remember the sequence, young Padawan!" and intervened. :)
When it was Eli's turn, he had a look of determination on face like, "Bring it on, Darth!!" He did very well remembering the fighting sequence they learned.
They all got certificates for completing their training. It was a lot of fun and he had a great birthday!

Catch up!
It's been awhile and a lot has happened over here in the last couple of months. We had Halloween, the Luke's came to visit and Olivia had her 1st birthday (which I'll cover in another post). I'll try not to make this too terribly long!
HALLOWEEN
Since Halloween was on a Sunday this year our stake did a trunk or treat. Since my family was going to be in town we decided to decorate the trunk in a pirate theme and have mom, dad, Danny and I dress as pirates. Mom brought down most of the trunk decorations and the costumes. I LOVED my pirate costume. She found the leather coat I wore for $0.99 at a second hand store!! (Why can't I ever find deals like that?) Then she dyed the coat dark brown, only the decorative braiding didn't take the dye so it remained the lighter color. It turned out really cool!
I didn't get very many pictures of the kids in their costumes unfortunately. I still don't have a picture of Olivia in her costume. It was a bit chilly at the trunk or treat so we kept her bundled up in the stroller. And the fairy wings just don't work too when you're sitting back in the stroller! I do have a picture of her in her flower hat that I took a few months back. So just imagine her with fairy wings on and there you have it. Shailey was also a fairy (Rosetta, to be precise), Eli went as a pirate, and Isaac went as Super Mario.
THE LUKES VISIT
We had a visit from the Lukes and, as usual, had so much fun with them here! We played games, visited Disneyland, ate candy, and went to the beach. Here are a few highlights...

We had a visit from the Lukes and, as usual, had so much fun with them here! We played games, visited Disneyland, ate candy, and went to the beach. Here are a few highlights...
The hair that Hyrum was sporting regularly with reckless abandon. I love that kid!
DISNEYLAND
I didn't take many pictures at Disneyland but here are a few of my favorites.
Livvy's first Disneyland trip!
I love this picture!
And what trip to Disneyland would be complete without a few pictures of Main Street?
We look forward to our trip up to Oregon to visit the Lukes next month!
